Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, Pakistan's newly discovered tennis star, has expressed hopes of winning the men's doubles final of the US Open tennis championship against the brother duo of Bob and Mike Bryan.

Qureshi, who with his Czech partner Kveta Peschke, lost the mixed doubles final in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) against Bob Bryan and Liezel Huber, hopes to perform better in the men's doubles final against the Bryan brothers, the Dawn reports.

Aisam Qureshi was applauded by Bob Bryan even after losing the match.

"Mr Qureshi is a great player. What he and (Rohan) Bopanna (Aisam's partner in men's doubles) are doing for world peace is incredible," Bryan said. "Those guys are great guys. Everyone in the locker room likes them," Bob remarked.

India's Rohan Bopanna and Pakistan's Qureshi entered their maiden final at the men's doubles, defeating Argentina's Eduardo Schwank and Horacio Zaballos 7-6(5), 6-4 in the US Open tennis men's doubles semi-finals.

While Bopanna and Aisam's quests have won them many friends in the professional tennis world, they have also earned respect for their performances as well as humanitarian goals. (ANI)
